THE OCEANARIUM
It's like a fish tank, but bigger.

The sea is a vast expanse of water that covers 70% of our planet Earth. It is also home to various marine life that dwell within the very depths. Then one day, someone decided to bring the ocean to the surface for Reasons. So now everyone gets the chance to see all sorts of seafaring creatures — man-eating sharks, living fossils, and whatever horrors found deep in the ocean trenches all safely confined inside these oversized aquariums.

Somehow, your character got their hands on some tickets. So why not dive right in and spend some of that free time to hang out with the fishes? Learn something about the ocean, pet a cute penguin, or even plot to free a killer whale. It'll be an experience they won't forget.

➤ What is this?

This is just an open RP post with a sandbox-like setting. While there's some scenarios premade for your roleplaying needs, you can mess around with it as much or as little as you want. Feel free to use it for voicetesting, create cross-canon shenanigans, or develop a ship even further. You can carry the story over to your musebox if you'd like too. And you can re-use this post as many times as you'd like (until it hits the comment limit.) So bring your blorbos, your originals, your AUs, your friends and your friends' friends along for the fun!

Upon arrival, the attendant greets you as she collects your ticket. She hands over a brochure of the park containing a map, and descriptions of each featured exhibit that you can access. Afterwards she explains some guidelines for you to follow while within the park premises:

No smoking.
Don't leave your children unattended.
Don't tap or slam against the glass.
Please keep your valuables with you.
Don't bring food or drinks inside any of the exhibit rooms.
Use of flash photography is strictly prohibited.
Ignore the noises coming from the backrooms.
Keep a safe distance from the pools, otherwise you will get wet.

Once she's done, she slaps a wristband over your arm and gestures to make your way into the main lobby where all of the other visitors are gathered. From here you may begin exploring around the facility on your own, with your partner, or tag along with a tour guide as they show you the way. There's a lot of places to be, and plenty of fish to see!

❖ A Watery Wonderland

➤ Location: Sea-Through Tunnel

The Sea-Through Tunnel is the main attraction of the Oceanarium, and the highlight in most advertisements you find about this place. And you now understand why after seeing it up-close.

It is a long glass tunnel that passes through the large indoor aquarium, giving you a glimpse of the wonders of the sea. And like an aquarium, the exhibit presents a near-perfect replication of the seabed and the various kinds of marine life found exclusively under the sea. Though it comes with a few bits and bobs you expect from any fish tank like a shipwrecked galleon or a treasure chest. If you peruse through the brochure, you take note of the description of the tunnel as follows:

...The Oceanarium™ has even transplanted seaweed, anemones, giant clams and all from the Pacific and Atlantic depths to really nail in the accuracy of their natural habitat. It's the best place to find sharks, stingrays and other fascinating seafaring creatures from behind the glass without having to dive deep into the ocean itself. So you don't have to worry about that pesky thalassophobia kicking in!

Apparently this exhibit is also popular among families and young couples according to the guide that you overheard. They explained how with the vivid blue water, the colorful coral covering the surface, and an assortment of marine life swimming by, certainly all of these make for a perfect backdrop for any special occasion.

"First meetings, reunions, confessions, wedding proposals, you name it!" the tour guide enthused, "What could be more memorable than having a heartfelt moment or two take place underwater and being surrounded by thousands of fish?"

❖ Close Encounters of the Penguin Kind

➤ Location: The Cold Spot

Another popular attraction in the Oceanarium is The Cold Spot, showcasing images and dioramas of wildlife that survive within polar habitats. And to really add to the experience, the temperature in the room is a bit lower than usual. So as the name implies, it does get a little chilly inside.

Though what draws people the most is the large penguin enclosure within the exhibit. It's where guests get to see these dapper-looking birds clumsily waddle around on the snow-covered surface or diving gracefully into the waters of the indoor pool. Many of them are seen idling by either at their nests, the fake rocks, or at the edge of the pool with little concern of their spectators standing behind the glass barrier with fascination and glee.

If you're hoping to get a close look of these birds, then lucky for you! For a phenomenally nominal fee, you can feed and pet them at your leisure within the exhibit.* Watch as these little guys will start swarming around you to observe and hope to get some fish out of your hands.

Then you notice some smaller text at the bottom of the Cold Spot's description.

* – The Oceanarium™ will not be held responsible for the animals' behavior, and any injuries or losses gained from them will not be compensated for as per agreement in the terms and conditions written in your waiver. Please take caution when interacting with these animals.

Other than that, if you're not up to paying for meeting penguins, there are a couple of penguin statues and a photo stand-in of a penguin with its face cut-out so you can pretend to be one just for laughs.

❖ Operation: Free Willy

➤ Location: Aquatheater

Built for family-friendly entertainment, this area is an enriching experience for both you and our finned friends in captivity. The Aquatheater is made to hold more than a hundred guests to view over the stage – a large oval pool where our handlers hold the highly-anticipated marine show featuring our highly trained cetaceans and pinnipeds performing the most captivating acts of acrobatics in and over water.

But as it turns out, there was more to it than meets the eye.

Maybe it's something you caught word of before entering the facility, but you heard rumors that there were plans from the staff behind the scenes about getting rid of one of their poorest performers in the bunch. The Oceanarium has a bit of a seedy reputation regarding the welfare of these seafaring mammals, and have even called into question how they handled them in captivity. You don't know what they'll do to that poor creature, and wouldn't want to think the worst of it to happen. Frankly it's not your business to pry, yet you feel you have to do something if any of that is true.

Now driven to save the creature, you and your partner sneak into the backrooms and make an attempt to set it free.

❖ Submerged in Shadow

➤ Location: The Abyssal Zone

You figured there's a good reason why this exhibit is called The Abyssal Zone, as it is almost pitch black inside upon entering. This makes it impossible to read the brochure in such darkness. And the only sources of light that you could find are the tiny LED lights embedded on the floor to illuminate your path, and the soft eerie blue glow coming from the fish tanks.

Apparently all of the specimens featured here are mostly found within the deepest trenches of the ocean and are highly sensitive to bright lights. That would explain why the attendant from earlier discouraged you to use flash photography. The tour guide mentions how a handful of them are species that have been around since the prehistoric era. They even proudly boast that the Oceanarium seems to be the only marine park that has the rare "Deep Sea Pucker-Faced Lanternfish" in captivity, thought to have been extinct during the Paleocene era. Seeing how these species of fish managed to survive for over millions of years makes you wonder what else could be lurking beneath the depths.

You then take notice of a few fish that seem to be glowing by themselves. One of them at a distance looked rather... humanoid in shape based on the silhouette. Though maybe you're just seeing things.

"...Oh and did you know?" you hear the guide continue, "Some of these fishes are able to produce their own light naturally – mostly to lure in their prey."

Somehow, you're getting the sense that you're being watched by whatever it is behind the glass.

❖ Deep Fear

➤ Location: Basement-Level Research Laboratory

Slight body horror.

Something's wrong.

Your body swiftly jumps and aches as your nerves begin to connect to your sudden awareness. It's like you are weighted down with lead for muscles, your limbs are uncooperative at every attempt. Not only that, but there's an odd sensation coming from your hands and feet like they felt stuck together. And for some reason, it's become a chore to breathe through your throat as you rasp loudly. And as you awake, bright lights glare before your eyes and you immediately shield them away with your hand. And that's the first oddity you've discovered – the skin between your digits are stitched together, webbed like fins of a fish. The second is finding yourself atop an operating table.

A sharp chill takes over you completely.

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary before you got here. But whatever reason you have for visiting the Oceanarium, someone had their sights on you and knocked you unconscious when no one's watching. And now you've found yourself in a strange yet horrifying predicament. Everything about you has changed, and you dread how your life will be like from this point onwards. It's become certain that you've regretted ever coming to the park in the first place.

There's no time to think about this any further. There's only one goal in mind right now – You have to get out of here. And you can only hope and pray the people running this place don't catch you if you're spotted.

➤ Location: Gift Shop & Café

Had enough excitement for today? It sure seems like it.

Well, your time here in the Oceanarium is finally over. Maybe you got to learn a thing or two about the sea, that you found some appreciation towards our fishy friends. Or maybe you've just decided for yourself that you're going to stay far away from the ocean permanently. Either one of these is a valid response really. Just don't let the staff know about the latter part.

But before you leave, the tour guide encourages everyone to stop by at the gift shop and bring home a souvenir or two for you and your friends. There's Oceanarium-themed keychains, fridge magnets, bottle openers, t-shirts, baseball caps, and even plush toys of critters such as penguins, dolphins, octopi, a legally distinct clownfish, or the pucker-faced lanternfish that you can have as a new companion on your way back out.

Alternatively you can sit back, relax, and grab some bubble tea or try out some fish and chips at the indoor café. Of course there's more options you can choose from in the menu, with some food items specially catered towards those who are either vegan, vegetarian, have specific allergies, or just a really picky eater.

A Watery Wonderland

[Well it's not every day his family gets to visit the aquarium. It was one of the places his parents wanted the whole family to check out and spend quality time together at. So after his father acquired tickets the whole Minato family took the opportunity and make the best out of their trip.

Of course the problem is that he has two younger siblings who tend to get a little too eager with these kinds of visits and run off on their own. And as a result, he's lost sight of them.

With an exasperated sigh, Katsumi approaches you. This is just routine for him anyway.]

Say, have you seen my siblings passing by? My brother's an inch shorter than me and sports a blue coat, while my sister's in a pink jacket and beret.

Operation: Free Willy

[The moment he hears about the plot to save the tiny shark whale from its confines, he just looks at you disapprovingly with his arms crossed.]

How many times do I have to tell you? We are not breaking into the back rooms.

[Sunny decided to go to the gift shop first after entering the aquarium, after getting a big snack and drink at the cafe to fuel his imminent walk around the building, to see what fun stuff they had before heading in.
He ended up getting a penguin plush for Miss Amy, a sea turtle plush for Cream, and for him... He found a REALLY big whale shark! He got all of that and put the penguin and sea turtle into his bag outside the gift shop so he could give them to Miss Amy and Cream when he got home, not paying attention to anyone staring at the plushes fitting into his tiny fish bag. They were gonna LOVE them!]

[His first stop was the main attraction itself, and Sunny ooh'd and aah'd at the fish passing by, then stopped when something big passed over them and looked up and 'Wow'ed at the big ol' whale shark up above! It was so big!
Then, to the side, he saw one of the fish eyeing him so he tilted his head and it tilted too.
Sunny had an idea... He floated just a little bit off the ground, glowing teal, and... spun! The big fish spun with him! He laughed and spun again, the fish copying him, not noticing someone watching.]

"Haha, you can have fun too, big fish! Whee!"

((OOC: Sunny is 12 years old and from an apocalyptic future, he absolutely LOVES learning about present day stuff, since he's stuck in the present anyway. He's big of heart and dumb of ass, but he's doing his best.

🦈 1. A Watery Wonderland

[Being from the 19th century, where such structures are new, Vanitas has never seen anything like this before. Being underwater without drowning! Amazing... Yet he tries not to gawk like a tourist, instead keeping his hands under his cloak and simply marveling at the sea life large and small swimming by. Yet there's no denying the intense look of wonder on his face, brilliant blue eyes almost as deep as the ocean itself fixated on a passing whale shark. So much so that he doesn't see where he's going until he bumps into someone, startling him out of his reverie.]

Ah--! Excusez-moi, I didn't see you there. [Clearly...]

🐧 2. Close Encounters of the Penguin Kind

[Once again, something Vanitas has never witnessed before! Penguins are surprisingly cute for overgrown birds, he must admit, and so he's decided to splurge and go for a round of feeding the creatures. Carefully, he feeds them fish one by one, until the bucket is empty.

And that's when things turn ugly.

The penguins see him as a food source now, and aren't keen on being deprived their meal. Thus they start pecking at Vanitas himself, tugging at his fingers and clothes as they demand MORE FISH!!! No matter which way he turns, there seems to be yet another penguin ready to harass him!]

Back! Back, I say! Oi! Not the cloak--! LEAVE MY BOW ALONE, CURSE YOU!!

[Perhaps a rescue is in order...?]

🧋 3. Relaxed, Refreshed & Resurfaced

[Once freed of the nightmare that is the penguin enclosure, Vanitas decides he's had just about enough and starts to head for the exit. Only along the way he spots the café and, feeling peckish, decides to stop in for some refreshments before meandering home. Food has never been of particular interest for him, but curiosity gets the better of him and he opts to try this "bubble tea" thing despite his instincts telling him sullying perfectly good tea is a waste.

There he sits, perched on his seat with both hands grasping the drink and a look of consternation on his face. Does he dare...? The little balls of-- What was it? Tapioca? --floating in his precious liquid seem innocent enough, but one can never tell. His eyes narrow as he takes a deep breath and-- sucks up some of the drink through his straw.

Almost instantly he pulls a face that says he's SO not used to such things, jaw working as he chews the pearls and tries to swallow.]

They're squishy--! [......but honestly? Not bad. He goes back for another sip, pulling the same face. This could take a while...]

1. Watery Wonderland
[Sakura has never been to an oceanarium before, or even an aquarium. He hasn't done a lot of things, but no time like the present to check things off the list, right? In the giant tunnel, he has a look of utter awe on his face, hands pressed to the glance as he turns his head to follow the path of a shark overhead.]

Do you think he sees us as a threat? Or a potential meal?

2. Relaxed, Refreshed and Resurfaced
[Sakura spends a long moment lingering over the plush toys, the penguins and dolphins and even jellyfish in bright friendly colors. His hand brushes over a penguin's head, and then he sheepishly looks at his companion.]

I've, uh. Never had any stuffed animals before.

3. A Skewed Free Willy-adjacent AU Thing
[There are signs advertising a new exhibit: a real life merman, living in a tank all his own. In practice, he's more of a merboy, seeming little more than a teenager, with mismatched black and gold eyes, and a tail that resembles a shiro utsuri koi. And he doesn't seem happy, even if the tank is nice and large and has colorful anemones to set off his monochrome appearance.

He presses his hands to the glass of his tank, staring at the crowd observing him.]

A. [What's that? His brother is looking for him? Well, Isami doesn't know a thing about that! In fact he's busy being enamored by the trinkets, and other items laid out at the gift store. He'll pick up a soft plush penguin looking it over before picking up another penguin.

At first it seems like he's comparing the two until-]

'Katsu-pen, here! Have a fishie! Happy~!'

[He'll say in his best, girly voice he could muster.]

'Thanks, Asa-pen but I can't right now. I have to look after the store. Isami, stop standing there! Aren't you going to be late for class?'

[Was he seriously just playing with plush penguins...? By himself?]

B. [Later, over by the cafe Isami can be seen staring intently at the menu while standing over on the side, away from the line. He's hmm, huhing out loud which followed with a loud, dramatic sigh.]

Nope, ain't finding it. Maybe I should've gotten up super early like Asahi told me to....

[It's followed by another, pitiful sigh as he shifted his gaze to the sign taped to their showcase window showing a photo of a bun shaped like a cartoon whale.]

Close Encounters of the Penguin Kind
[While his appearance is extremely similar to the human known as Isami Minato, Blu, or better known as Ultraman Blu will be seen quietly observing the guests within the Cold Spot out of the way of from the crowd. His eyes narrowed, as his brows twitched with his gaze locked onto the penguins.

He remained in spot, waiting for the crowd to thin and dwindle before making his move--without any hesitation he's slamming his fist straight for the glass barrier. What is wrong with this man!? Somebody stop him before he causes physical harm potentially to himself, the penguins or just maybe, the staff that's starting to rush in?!]

(the longest OOC note: Here's Isami Minato, the younger brother out of the three Minato siblings! He's like age 19, college student, very eccentric like the rest of his family. He might seem stand offish at first glance ~~being a tired college student~~ but he's warm, friendly and full of passion! Anyway he's up for any wild adventures.

I also play an AU flavor of Isami where Ultraman Blu masquerades as him while he's unable to walk around due to physically recovering. It's a long story-.

[Dick Grayson doesn't seem too bothered by the cold, or the smell, because the penguins are delightfully animated, and the girls are fighting-- or maybe they're boy penguins, it doesn't matter. but if you should catch his eye, he'll grin and point--]

Haven't seen anyone that enthusiastic about fish since my brother got a Manatee.

[Nightwing didn't come to these events for the fun, or the plushie Seals....which is a shame, actually, someone needs to invite him one of these days. Either way, either you run into him investigating the backrooms, or more likely he stumbles upon you stumbling around back there]

This is not a whale. This is totally a human teenager. Who borrowed clothing and accessories from her sister. Well, that part is true: S'reee did ask Nita if she needed to don human form, if she could borrow clothing. S'reee was aware that humans had a large number of rules about clothing, and the smartest thing to do was to copy what she saw humans doing as she scouted the (far too small!) tanks.

Right now, she's having a seemingly one-sided conversation with one of the whales, using Wizard's Speech. "-going to be able to do anything until tonight, and that's if the worldgate team gets back to me with permission. Do you know when humans are normally around at night?"

She's trying not to be overheard, but managing a different set of acoustics is difficult, and she can't just stick her head in the tank, even if it would be much easier.

🐠 A Watery Wonderland

[Being confined in his own home for seven years, Luke doesn't get out... well, at all. And ever since he was whisked away to the wild open fields of Auldrant, he's been taking in a lot of new sights and experiences that he'd never find in his stuffy old manor. Visiting the Oceanarium is just one of many. Even though there's nothing like this in his world.

Like a kid in a candy store, his eyes dart around the tunnel in awe, unable to hide his fascination towards what he's seeing. Surrounded by the bluest waters, fish of all shapes and sizes, these are things he's only been told and read about. He never imagined what lies beneath the ocean would be something so beautiful. And he didn't even need to learn how to swim to see all this!]

This is cool! It's a lot better than the view of the Qliphoth!

[In all honesty, anything is better than looking at the Qliphoth.

Eager to get a close look, he leans towards the glass with both hands and the tip of his nose pressed against it. Spotting something that catches his interest.]

🐧 Close Encounters of the Penguin Kind

[Luke's perfectly fine standing outside of the enclosure to watch the penguins. Compared to how he reacted at the tunnel, here he's only shown to be mildly interested with them. And the interior design inside the exhibit only reminds him of the snowscapes of Keterburg.

He's mostly being merely curious as to how these birds live their lives without the ability to fly. (Though he'd rather do without hearing their loud honking. Why do they sound so terrifyingly awful???)]

Hmm, they say they're supposed to be like royalty. [A slight head tilt.] I don't know, I'm just not seeing it.

[After a relatively uneventful day at the Aquarium (killer penguins, killer whale smugglers, a sudden barrage of non-killer ninjas, and so on) Nagiri finds himself at the gift shop. Surrounded by cheap trinkets, he comes to the sudden realization that he forgot entirely what he came here for in the first place. The reason? Same as any hungry vampire that comes to an area filled with humans. That dark deep-sea room would've been the perfect place to strike unnoticed, but he had to get distracted, accidentally saving a kid that was being lured into the depths by a fish...

Come to think of it, he did get a gift card for the gift shop, didn't he? Not like they'd have anything worthwhile, though...

As he thinks that, his eyes widen as they lock on to a row of pufferfish plushies. He gasps in surprise, taken aback.]

Wha... So round!!

Deep Fear

[...If you're headed to the back rooms for any reasons (smuggling a sea creature out? heard someone got kidnapped and taken into the back?) you might hear something... creepy. Echoing along the hallways of the back rooms of the aquarium are thunks of something sharp stabbing into the floor, then scraping and slithering and something heavy being dragged along the floor...

Thck, scrtch, shfffhh... Thck, scrtch, shfffhh...

There's a faint smell of blood in the air. Something out there is furious.]

((ooc: Tsujigiri Nagiri, in his late twenties, formerly one of the most feared and dangerous vampires of the world, now a homeless weakened vampire who's focused on survival. [Emil has never seen anything like this. The Dynasty Ruins was close, with all the water and fish, but to see the ocean above him like this, with fish all around him? It's incredible. For a moment, he forgets himself, forgets to be self-conscious, as a shark bigger than him swims above him. Emil laughs in surprise and runs after it to watch it.

...Then he bumps into someone, and reality crashes back. He shrinks into himself, smile disappearing.]

["Wanted: Rescue! Subject: An innocent Sea Wyvern has gotten captured by a dubious aquarium. Sneak inside and rescue it! PS - For the sake of appearing inconspicuous, the client requests that you pretend to be a family on a holiday."

...And that's the job Ratatosk took with you. He clicks his tongue as he reads the specifics, then regards you with his red eyes. Then, this apparent 16-years-old with a surprisingly deep voice states, completely seriously:]

🐟 A Watery Wonderland

[Somehow, for whatever reason, be it by Palkia's hand or by the will of Arceus or something else entirely, Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town (with his Pikachu) finds himself in the giant fish tank full of Not Fish Pokémon. Normally one would be alarmed to be displaced in an entirely new world, but for this kid?

[All that exploring and sightseeing really works up an appetite for Ash. So of course, the one place he's eager to go next before calling it a day would be the indoor café. He's helping himself with a delightful tuna sandwich and a side of potato chips along with some bubble tea, while his little fuzzy yellow friend sits on top of the table and chowing down on his share. (...Is that even allowed? Doesn't seem like anyone's telling the kid off for letting his pet in.)

Whether you're distracted by the fact his furry companion carries 10,000 volts of electricity in his cheeks, or just... something else entirely, Ash takes notice of you and then your plate which remains untouched.]

🐬 Operation: Free Willy (POKéMON EDITION)

[As it turns out, Team Rocket (the whole organized group, that is) has been running this operation behind the scenes, and have been doing shady business — poaching these poor Pokémon from their homes and illegally selling them off discreetly. All the while putting up the front of a marine park.

Ash really didn't like this when word reaches his ears.

So, while the coast is clear and is sure no one else but him and you are present, Ash proceeds to tackle against a locked door a few times. He could hear the cries of the captive Pokémon from behind, which he's all the more driven to slam down the door a couple more times.]

A Watery Wonderland

[It seemed like a relatively normal visit to this, admittedly, absurdly huge aquairum. The tanks might be so huge you could confuse them to windows to actual ocean...but they were still tanks at the end of the day, filled with the kinds of things you would expect from them, fish of all kinds, turtles, crustaceans,...sharks.

It's and soothing nature of the waves and flowing of water was enough to put you at ease, you wouldn't even think twice anything usual was happening. But thats when something funny happens, a shadow catches the corner of your eye, a shadow until anything else you've seen thus far. A fish? No it was too big. A sea mammal like a seal? Maybe, but you hadn't seen anything like those thus far.

The moment leaves your mind until you catch more glimpes of...something. Something else in this tank. Eventually you hear the tapping of glass from behind...except you were in the only one in this room, and sounded more like it was coming from the other end of the tank. Slowly you may turn and find....a girl? What's a girl doing inside the tank, does anyone else know about this? And does it look like she's not wearing any scuba gear of any kind? Because she isn't, as she grins a toothy at you. And perhaps most notably was behind her, a tail, but not just any tail, a shark's tail. The girl behind this glass on the other is just enjoying the moment and if its awkward, just makes it better for her]

[Who doesn't love giftshops? Gura does as she happily digs through all the tacky tropical clothes, throwing them across the store into a huge pile, giving herself a huge sunhat and star-lensed sunglasses as continues to make a scene not caring who sees her not

I'll take this. And this..Oooo! Gotta have this. And [GASP] Look at this! [Gura grabs a...bizzare mix of a rubber duck and whoopee cushion, honking it repeatedly as it makes a loud and obnoxious noise the entire store can hear, making herself giggle with each honk]

[It was a peaceful day all things considered, it was about time for you to leave anyway...when suddenly...

RED ALERT: RED ALERT: A SITUATION HAS OCCURED IN THE WEST GATE

[The sound of alrams sound in the facility as the lights shut and the doors lock. For whatever reason, you and no other visitor is allowed to leave as the same message repeats.
To make matters worse the faint sound of gunfire can heard...along with the crashing of water and yells. Cracks form under you as the wipes that map the building and the water within flows wildly
From the other side of the door, frantic yelling can heared through muffled metal walls.]

[Only a few shots can be heard before a much louder crash echoes through the chamber as rushing water, not unlike a raging river, busts forth, causing whoever was the other side to yell helplessly before the force of the water slams into the metal door you were behind, blasting it off its hinges effortlessly...
And there stood in the darkness stood Gura...holding what looks to be a trident, and her eyes glowing in a red anger]

[ Once she was free from the attendant, Agnès was momentarily at a loss - there were so many things to see she hardly knew where to start! Well, she was just going to have to go in order. The first being... ]

A. Watery Wonderland

[ Words cannot express the awe and fascination she had with her surroundings, barely resisting the urge to reach out and touch the glass as fish swam by. She paused by each exhibit, reading information she found on them, before moving on to the next, only half listening to the tour guide who was leading other groups ahead of her. ]

This is so beautiful...I can see why someone would propose in a place like this..!

B. Operation: Free Willy
[ Unfortunately as beautiful as things were on the surface, it had its darkness too - because everything did, didn't it? What she overheard about how these poor creatures were treated was disturbing, and she felt a little ill thinking about how she had initially taken it as a harmless exhibit. It wasn't just this creature, but probably others too.

... getting involved would probably be illegal, but she couldn't stand by and do nothing. She glanced at her current partner in 'crime'. ]

Um..as much as I dislike what they're doing, if we don't find some evidence of their mistreatment of the animals here, they're going to just go right back to what they're doing even after we set this one free. We should have a look around first.. although it might be riskier to trespass, and I'd hate to involve you further.

C. Relaxed, Refreshed and Resurfaced
[ She's learned a lot at the exhibit, and undoubtedly would be writing up a lengthly report to share for class later - technically she wasn't here in an academic sense but it wouldn't hurt either. The gift shop though, was full of things that she would love to bring back for all of her friends, and as such she was wandering the aisles with a bag that was getting larger and heavier with each purchase. ]

Let's see.. the dolphin toy for Feri, a cap for Quatre, keychain for Oscar.. Oh, Odette might like this mug -!

[ Ooh what's that smell? She glanced over -hrmm, maybe she could stop for a bit and get something to eat before resuming her spending spree. As such she scooted over to the cafe, glancing at the nearest customer. ]

A Watery Wonderland
(It is not everyday that he gets to visit an aquarium. His maternal relatives never bother to take him with them willingly to one growing up nor do most wizards would want to go to one publicly. And since his schedule is freed up, he decides to check it out and see the sea life up close.

The marine animals, while not magical in nature, manage to amaze him as they swim across the water. The added bonus of the see-through tunnel is that he gets to the experience of being underwater without losing air and having to fear for his life from being chased/attacked by murderous merpeople like what happened to him in his fourth year.

He does wish that he could get Hagrid and Luna to come to him someday as they share a similar interest on creatures, and while not magical or seemingly dangerous, they would like the uniqueness many marine creatures possess.)

Close Encounters of the Penguin Kind
(These penguins don’t look so terrifying so far, that is what Harry thought as he enters the penguin enclosure. They are only harmless flightless birds that look like they are dressed in suits. Right? And while reluctant initially, he was persuaded to participate in the bird feeding and that is what he does.

Harry tries not to slip on the ice as he goes to feed the penguins. And to his own surprise, he is proven to be really good at it given his experience with caring for his owl Hedwig. One of the penguins he’s feeding at the moment is a tiny chick who somehow mistakes him for its dad and it is currently crying for more food from him.)

Oh dear. I’m sorry, little bird, but I could only give out this much food today. There are other penguins who will want to get food now. And I’m not even your father too, he might be looking for you as well.

(The baby penguin doesn’t seem to leave him, being stubborn and still crying for food and its papa. How can Harry try to say no to this little bird and still feed the other penguins? Ho boy. This is going to be tough for him to go through.)

(After that long exhausting penguin feeding, Harry finally decides that it’s time to call it for the day and he is at the cafe for a quick lunch, and maybe getting a few souvenirs, before heading back home. Because of his prolonged exposure to the British magical community, he almost forgot the fact that Muggle cuisine can be as good as the wizarding food he is used.

Fish and chips is something he is very likely to be familiar with and the cafe staff are just so generous enough in giving him a side of mushy peas. Okay he can take this extra bit of kindness today. The bubble tea, on the other hand, does confused him for a bit as he is new to it.

Once he gets a taste of it, he soon discovers that it is sooo good. The combination of brown sugar bubbles, milk and black tea proves to be a tasty treat and its taste isn’t too far off from that of Butterbeer either.)

[Hey, Bro's never been the sort to pass up on free stuff, tickets to events he otherwise wouldn't care about included. If they were highly sought after, he could resell them, but... he couldn't really find anything else about these, except from other people who also got them. Weird. Must be too niche, or just starting out and trying to promote a new business? He might as well check it out! As he wandered through the aquarium, He'll smile politely at the attendant (and probably not-so-discreetly ogle her as she walks off), but as soon as she's out of earshot and busy with someone else, he'll snort derisively while reading the rules.]

Tch, tryin' to tell me what to do... sure is easy on the eyes, though.

[He can't even smoke in this place? Why, is he gonna poison the fish through glass? Pathetic.]

[Now, telling him to ignore something just makes him want to check it out even more, you know? He'll definitely ask around (but not too many people—he doesn't want eyes on him, maybe just one or two sources he can wait until they're out of sight), so he has some vague idea of what he mnight find, then investigate himself... but not with any noble goals, no.

He'd just think a stuffed killer whale would make a sick addition to his home!

He tried his hardest not to think about missing any internal organs (think they sold them to afford all this stuff?!) and did his best to quietly leave... everything felt so heavy... ugh, did his stupid webbed feet make some duck-like slapping sounds? He cursed under his breath and looked for those shoe covers surgeons have. Maybe he can sneak some on and try to muffle the sound for his escape... stupid feet.]
