Her explanations have been that she doesn't have the answers (and neither does he) because she isn't a curator here. She considered his response a moment, about to add more to it - then stops herself. ]

I don't think there's a point in answering that question. For starters, you're not actually willing or open to actually hearing the answer, and secondly, I don't work here. I'm not a curator, and that's the person you should be talking to if you actual wanted an answer and not just a theory.
